Hi friends, I’m Dana J Goulston. Thank you for clicking and having a little curiosity about the author of Dana’s Lowerarchy of Needs.
Brief Bio:
My vocational career tramples through the scientific worlds of chemistry, engineering, and information technology (Project Management). There are also sprinklings of academia. However web design, writing and publishing do play predominate roles in terms of generating career income. My brain is bizarre. It continues to try to figure out why I/we do the things we do. I’ve often sabotaged myself throughout my professional career by telling clients things they really didn’t want to hear. And yes, I would be telling the “truth”… but there had to be another way. Why did I do what I did. Enter Dana’s Lowerarchy of Needs!
What I like:
My avocational endeavors include oenology (all things wine), music (I play a few jazz instruments), and my favorite: motorcycle restoration (I find it satisfying turning old rust-buckets into gleaming, smooth-running 2-wheeled machines). I also love listening to and dancing Argentine Tango, and playing World of Warcraft (don’t ask). Just for fun, I recently did a stint as an Ice-Dance figure skating coach (go figure). Lately, the worlds of web design, AI & cryptocurrencies have sparked my interest. Polymath or just someone who has OCD tendencies? You decide… or as my therapist says, “Is there room for both?” Hell yeah!
My writings:
I’ve written many white papers and corporate scientific procedures. I’ve authored over a thousand IT pieces in the field of Project Management, and have published four books (and counting). Two of my books are on IT-Project Management, two are for parents and teachers of special needs children, and this work which lands in the psychology (-ish) genre. By the way, I’ve done research on the space shuttle fuels… so I can tell you, “I’ve Done Rocket Science, and this Ain’t it!”

Teaching:
I’ve developed and taught graduate-school level Project Management courses at UC Davis in California… specializing in IT Risk Management. I actually had PhD’s as students… and yet I never finished my Bachelor’s degree! I call that “No teacher left behind”.
